Me voici, depuis plus de dix jours, de retour de New York, ma ville de coeur, la Big Apple qui ne dort jamais.

Avec ses rooftops, ses restaurants aux brunchs plus délicieux les uns que les autres, ses 100.000 adresses de burgers, ses immeubles qui vous donnent le vertige, son odeur particulière, ses quartiers vintage, ses boutiques hype, Brooklyn et ses quartiers hipsters, New-York est ma maison et me fait toujours autant rêver. Je m’y sens chez moi comme nulle part ailleurs.

Avant de partager avec vous toutes mes photos argentiques (que j’ai déjà récupérées chez le photographe mais j’ai oublié de donner un film), je voulais partager toutes mes bonnes adresses. Celles essayées et adoptées ainsi que celles repérées pour un de mes prochains passages dans cette ville enchanteresse.

 La suite est en anglais, pour plus de transparence, et la suite n’est pas définitive. J’ai essayé de détailler toutes mes découvertes mais après plusieurs heures de travail, je me disais qu’il m’était impossible de le terminer avant des mois si je voulais qu’il soit le plus complet possible. Pas facile d’avoir un job à plein temps, des soirées toujours occupées, des week-ends qui filent à toute allure, un projet à réaliser et de réussir à maintenir ce blog. Donc je vous publie mon city guide incomplet et vous invite à venir y jeter un oeil de temps en temps pour voir mes nouveaux ajouts.

Tried : the big breakkie w/ 2 eggs any style (scrambled), hash browns, whole wheat toast & choice of 2 sides (avocado and bacon)

Next time : Ricotta pancakes w/ honeycomb butter, banana, blueberries, strawberries & 100% pure maple syrup

Bakeri 150 Wythe Ave, Williamsburg

Cosy bakery and nice pastries. Perfect for a late breakfast

Tried : Avocado Tartine on Sourdough Rye with lemon, cumin, olive oil, grey sea salt, a side of chips and origano and parmesan scone

Next time : Avocado, Lettuce & Tomato (ALT) on focaccia served with chips and a side of hummus

Tried : Pistachio cookie and iced coffee

Great place for beakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner

Tried : BLT salad

Reynards 80 Wythe Ave, Williamsburg

Nice place, good food, super nice team, one of my fav

Tried : Pancake with pear and maple syrup

Next time : Eggs benedict or something else. They change the menu every week

Nice terrace on the backyard, place to work with your laptop

Tried : one earl grey to go please!


Balthazar 80 Spring St.

One of the first restaurant I tried in Manhattan. Good brunch, seafood bar and « brasserie » atmosphere

La Esquina 114 Kenmare St.

Mexican restaurant in the Soho neighbourhood

Tried : Mixta salad with chicken, cabbage, string beans, cucumber, red onion, tomato, queso fresco, avocado 

Best salad ever!

Once upon a tart 135 Sullivan St.

Nice little bakery with cupcakes, carrot cakes and super nice granola

Pastis 9 9th Ave

Same as Balthazar, in the Meatpacking area, next to the Standard Hotel. Nice restaurant to chill out after three or four coktails at Le Bain

Tried : yummy mac and cheese 

Shake Shak Southeast corner of Madison Square Park near Madison Ave. and E.23rd St.

Nice terrace on the Madison square park, amazing fries and super tasty burger. Don’t be discouraged by the line up. That’s totally worth it

Tried : The shak burger 

The Butcher’s daughter 19 Kenmare St., corner of Elizabeth Street

Nice vegan restaurant. Fresh and tasty green food

Tried : Detox salad wrap with jicama, carrot, red cabbage, black sesame, ginger & lemon, wrapped in bibb lettuce served with miso-tahini dip

The Dutch 131 Sullivan St.

Nice restaurant in Greenwich village. Cool design. Tasty burger and smoked turkey sandwich with avocado.

Tried : Dry aged burger, cheddar, orwasher’s bun, secret sauce

Next time : Poached eggs, cheddar biscuit, ham, chipotle & tomato

The Fat Radish 17 Orchard St.

Loved the rough brick walls, the spacious interior and the green atmosphere

Tried : Bacon cheeseburger, duck fat fries, house pickles

Next time : I will try their brunch. The menu looks A M A Z I N G.

Watermark bar Pier 15, 78 South Street

Lunch on the East river, looking ferries and helicopter. Loved the « by the water » atmosphere.

Tried : Watermark Signature Burger, smoked bacon, bourbon caramelized onions, vermont cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickle & P15 sauce
